11PlusQuest ("we", "us", "our") is an educational vocabulary platform for children aged 8–14, designed to support preparation for the 11+ and build strong vocabulary skills. Our website is 11plusquest.com. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

• Account data: Parent/guardian email address, name, and password (stored securely).
• Child profile data: Child's first name, chosen avatar, and age range (no other identifying information).
• Learning data: Quiz results, game scores, XP, streaks, and vocabulary mastery progress.
• Payment data: Handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store card details. We receive subscription status and billing history from Stripe.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session duration (anonymised analytics).

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide the 11PlusQuest service and personalise your child's learning experience.
• To send weekly progress emails and important account notifications to the registered parent/guardian.
• To process subscription payments via Stripe.
• To improve and develop the platform based on anonymised usage patterns.
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA & UK GDPR)

We take children's privacy extremely seriously. 11PlusQuest accounts are created and managed by parents or guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13 without verified parental consent. Children's first names and learning data are used solely to personalise their in-app experience and provide parents with progress reports.

We do not display advertising to children, sell children's data, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Under UK GDPR, we process your data on the following bases:

• Contract: To provide the service you have signed up for.
• Legitimate interests: To improve the platform and send relevant progress updates.
• Legal obligation: Where required by UK law.
• Consent: For optional marketing communications (which you may withdraw at any time).

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

• Stripe: For payment processing. Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Base44: Our infrastructure provider for hosting and database services.
• OpenAI: For AI-powered features (spoken responses are processed transiently and not stored by us).

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 12 months and then deleted, unless you request earlier deletion. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Object to or restrict processing.
